When they claimed that the road ahead would be very long,
that the today's challenges would change the lives of many,
they didn't mean this. They surely couldn't have meant this.
When they promised that our world's climb would be steep,
that our journey would face many setbacks and false starts,
this is not what they envisioned; this was not meant to be.
