We all know that there's billions of Harry Potter roleplay forums out there. Some people are really odd with Harry Potter and such. On ProBoards Support in the RPG Looking For thread, someone said "I want a Harry Potter Future Roleplay. But I don't want to even hear about that horrible epilogue." That is no way to treat a story. You should just say, "I don't want any mention of the epilogue". On the other hand, people love the epilogue. Other people believe that there is way too many and in a few years, it'll all blow over and no one will like it anymore because it's old news. But, if you think about it, wouldn't that happen to Twilight and such?
I know probably none of that made sense, but what do you think of the epilogue and are there to many Harry Potter boards on ProBoards and Invisionfree?

mmm i am impartial towards the epilogue but i would be disappointed if it wasn't in the seventh movie. i love jk rowling though. i haven't read twilight yet so i don't have an opinion with that really.
as for too many harry potter roleplays...i would have to say yes. lately i've preferred harry potter based roleplays because those hold some layer of creativity. beauxbatons would be an interesting thing to roleplay, too, i'd imagine.

I love Harry Potter future roleplays, especially when done in an interesting way. I'm on a site where instead of at Hogwarts everyone is at a university. It really makes you think, what would college life be like as a wizard. Needless to say it's off the chain. =)

I my opinion I think that there are too much HP roleplays that are just too similar to each other. Maybe if people changed a bit, it wouldn’t be so many HP RPG's. Why? Because they wouldn't die that easily and people wouldn't be doing a new one if they had another HP RPG, with almost the same plot, that was active, right?
About the epilogue, I didn't like it, actually DH was a bit of a disappointment to me, I still like HP and J.K. Rowling, but well... =/
To finish I think that we need HP roleplays that give us something different than what we are used to. The University idea is good, mine for example will occur when the Trio is in their 20's, already working and with the little Death Eaters returning and stuff. But it isn’t just that, we gotta spice things up! =D

I've never roleplayed Harry Potter before, but it has struck my interest. I think I'm (maybe) waiting for a good plotline -- something original and something you haven't seen done before. Maybe Harry Potter based? I'm not sure yet.
There are a lot of Harry Potter roleplays - some better than others, but I suppose that gives for a good choice.

Having run HP games for 5 years, I have to say that yes, I love them but no, there are not enough people thinking outside the box. It's popular because it's such a lucrative environment; it's full, it's easy to grasp and there is so much information available at the tap of those two initials. I can see exactly it is popular, because they're all the reasons I love to play on HP games. Everyone has different things they want from their HP and that's why there are so many. No those games may not be different, but the admins start them up for their own reasons--other games they've seen just don't cut it; they're too slow, they don't allow slash, the canon they wanted was taken, the plot didn't go the direction they wanted.
I had played on several before I made my own. I didn't like the way they were run--thought I could do better. I did well for a while, but I made huge mistakes and it took me a year long break to learn from those errors and try again. After that, I did a spin off of my own game because there weren't any other games that had the premise I had in mind.

99% of the forums I'm on are Harry Potter in one way or another. I love the magical aspect of it, and I think that in itself is timeless. There's really no way anymore to make an original magical forum without having to credit JK at some point, which kind of stinks. I do like the forums I've been on though. I was on one that started as Hogwarts and moved to a University... I was also one one that was Hogwarts after the Trio but only shortly after. Now I'm on one that's years after the Trio.
And I haven't seen/heard/read the epilogue, so I can't comment on that.
However I have read the first three books in Twilight, and I do think that Twilight will have the same reaction. Lots of boards will be made about it, more unsuccessful than successful, but I think it's nice to have something different to distract everyone from the Harry Potter buzz once in a while. [=
